Being part of the LGBTQ+ community is not a ‘risk factor’ for various mental health concerns, experiencing homophobia and internalised homophobia, however, absolutely is.
We understand and recognise the strong links between experiencing (internalised) homophobia, shame, and various mental health issues including depression, anxiety, eating disorders, disordered eating, and PTSD. We also know these can be overcome.
We’re here and we’re queer.
Our team of practitioners proudly identify as part of the LGBTQ+ community, as we recognise how hugely validating and empowering it can be to have a therapist or nutrition counsellor who gets it, who you don’t have to explain terms or ideas to, and who has that lived experience.
We have worked with the L, the G, the B, the T, and beyond, as well as having completed training specific to both queer and trans experiences. If you’re looking for a space to explore questions and be curious about your own sexuality or gender identity, we would be happy to help.
